Alterna Caviar Repair:
YAS!!! All you will be saying when you use this. It repairs with Micro Beads and helps Reconstruct the hair Follicle . Filling in gaps and tears while smoothing the Hair Cuticle. I love this for thin hair and greasy hair. Its not heavy and its not going to leave any residue due to the Micro Bead technology.

Everyone wants nice shiny healthy hair after 3 rounds of color and bleach right? In a perfect world we have a magic Potion... Well we do but its cost ranges from $200-$350 ( look up my post on Hair Botox) . No fear the hair tamer is here!

Reconstructive Hair Products: Product that rebuild the hair that has been overprocessed or damaged by natural occurring elements or excessive heat.

Signs you hair could benefit from reconstructive Products if  :
  • Its Breaking Off
  • No matter how much you condition it remains dry
  • Its brittle
  • Curl Pattern Has been lost
  • A broom is smother than your hair
  • Hair Reacts to nothing not even a flat iron
  • Frizz is the outcome at every attempt to tame it

I wish I had a go to product for everyone but I'm not a Kardashian so I can't Launch a line right now . =) But I can tell you a few brands that have good key products and Im also going to tell you how to use each one. Please keep in mind in order for this to work you need all the steps. Yes you can mis- match brands but you Must have all the products listed in order for it to be effective. It also takes time, it can take one or two rounds of consistently using the product to see results depending on how damaged your hair is.
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Mask
  • Leave In treatment
  • Serum to refresh In between Washes - Apply when hair is dry each morning

AG Keratin Repair line:
I like this line due to its ingredients. With this line a little goes a long way due to it being so concentrated. I have used this line myself and really saw results. I find this line to be especially beneficial for thick hair and curly hair.

Milbon Plarmia: This is my best kept secret. I love this company and I love Japan for making something so great despite them having really good hair. Since going really really blonde I have been using this line to bring my hair back to life and let me tell you its working. You can't find this everywhere but its worth the hunt. It rejuvenates, for supreme shine, smoothness, softness, and strength
Picture
Redken Extreme:  This is super old school. But it works!!!! They recently reformulated and have a new formulation that is better than the last. Its budget friendly and it works for everyone! I have seen this work on all hair types.

Ingredients Defined Into English

6/11/2015

Let me Start by saying I have a secret. My secret is that next to taming my other passion is science. If I wasn't a hairstylist and education was free and I didn't have student debt from My bachelors ........I would totally have a masters in Organic Chemistry. But the way my bank account and goals are set up ..... Anyways One day I will ..but for now I do my own studying and figure things out and share with my Divas.

Below I'm going to break down some of my Favorite ingriedients and not so favorite commonly found in hair products. Next time your hair product shopping make sure and read the list of ingredients.

HINT: the ones listed first are the most potent and the the ones listed last are the least.

  • Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii)
The high-quality oil is extracted from the nuts of the African Shea tree; the oil has a high vitamin E and carotene content. Shea butter makes even extremely unruly and stressed hair look smooth, silky and shiny

. I love this for thick hair and curly hair , I find that it make it be so soft and shiny.
  •  Silicone (e.g. Dimethicone)
Silicones are synthetic substances, which form a protective film around hairs and in this way make the hair cuticle appear smoother, make it easier to comb the hair and provide great lustre. They can also temporarily re-align split ends, thus helping to keep the problem in check

. Please pay attention..Temporary. I don't not like this ingredient but I want you to understand its a filer not a remedy. So if this is listed first in a product thats not a good sign. It will work for a bit but no longterm effects on the overall healthiness of your hair.
  • Wheat Protein (Hydrolysed Wheat Protein)
Wheat protein preparations are also rich in unsaturated fatty acids; the preparations make hair shinier and easier to manage; they also strengthen damaged hair. I love everything Protein due to the hair follicle being made up of proteins to begin with its a restorative product. As much as we take out I love to put in what I take out with all the chemicals.
  • Olive Oil (Olea europea)
This is linoleic acid-containing top quality oil; it makes hair smooth and shiny. Linoleic acid is known for its anti-inflammatory effect

. I love olive oil! When combined with other raw ingridients it gives that perfect consistency to penetrate.
  • Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis)
This is a relatively light oil for the intensive care of very stressed fine hair; almond oil does not weigh down the hair. All those that think fine hair doesn't need oils....you do!  This is the best one for you to have all the benefits of oil and not weigh the hair down.
  • Macadamia Oil (Macadamia ternifolia)
Macadamia oil is very rich and contains many natural lipids. It works well in cures for the repair of brittle and extremely damaged hair

. Unlike other oils that hydrate this is one of those that repair. If you have not tried this I say the time is now. I love it for all hair types because its not heavy at all.

  •    Caffeine increases the activity of the hair roots and may even promote hair growth. It is mostly used in products meant to prevent hair loss

. I love drinking coffee but for all of you suffering for hair loss did you know that you can use it to stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth?
  • Ceramide (Ceramide)
Ceramides are lipids; they fill gaps in the outer hair cuticle. When added to shampoo or rinses ceramides can repair hair breakage. This is another filler..If its listed as a first ingredient drop the product and move on. its not going to help you in long run.

I hope this helped, these are just a few of the most common ones but so many more exist. If you have any you want to share that you like please comment below I would love to hear about your favs and why.

Thank you for reading

Aguacaté Hairmask

6/2/2015

I love Agucaté aka Avocado. I can eat one a day ..its sort of like the same love I have for Platanos. However from time to time they go bad before I can eat them ...when you live alone this tends to happen more often. This is how I have found my passion on making my own organic beauty products at home. Its a fun way to be creative and beautiful and have a snack at the same damn time.

Step One
Picture
Avacado and Extra virgin Olive oil...The more oil the more creamy the consistency. Most people say to measure I say pour as much as you think you need. My hair is really dry so I used a-lot. And notice how the avocado is brown, the more brown the more creamy the mask. I like to cut them and let them sit in my fridge for a day so they get dark but not hard. But you can do as you like just make sure its brown and not green.

Step Dos
Picture
Lemon
I then took this lemon and squeezed all the juice into my Olive Oil and Avacado Mixture.
Picture
I then Mixed it up in my Nutri bullet. If you don't have one just mix it like cake batter but make sure to make it as creamy as possible. This BTW it taste so good, but it was for my hair so I did not eat any of it. It kind of looked like newborn baby poop if you have ever seen that.(insert emoji)
Picture
My hair with the hair mask
I tried to apply the mask on dry hair just so it could penetrate better. That was no bueno so I had to wet my hair just a bit and it made it easier to apply. I then put on a shower cap and took a hot shower for about 20-30 minutes. You have two options...you can lightly shampoo and condition right after you shower...or you can sleep with the shower cap and wash out the next day.

If you do this mask once or twice a week for about two months you will see a significant change in your hair.

Question?????? Please comment and thank you for reading ....
